Dear Parents/Guardians,

Neon Wrestling Club is holding a Novice Wrestling Competition which is a fantastic opportunity for your child to get competition experience with athletes of a similar experience.

How to register:

  1. Click the register button below and register your child on the British Wrestling Association Database
  2. Pay for a BWA Membership (£27 for the year), You need this before you can register for the competition
  3. Go to the Events and Courses section and look for the Southampton Novice League event and register your child (£30 entry fee) you can use this link here , you will need to enter Coach Amir's details - Name: Amir Eslami  Coaches Number: 2875228
  4. Select England Southern Region
  5. Pay for spectator tickets £5 Adult, £3 Kids. This is important as you will not be allowed in to watch your child otherwise.

What your child should wear:

This competition does not require your child to wear a singlet, you must purchase Legion Wrestling Rashguard and Shorts details will be made available soon.

Transport:

All parents are required to make their own arrangements to get to the venue.

Weight Categories

Freestyle and Women’s Wrestling

 ALL age groups will be matched on the day based on 10% of

weight in accordance with British Wrestling Guidelines.

For U9 according to the number of registrations, mixed sex

categories will be allowed.

Weigh-In Morning Weigh in U9, U11, U13 08:00 – 09:00

Afternoon Weigh in U15, U17 12:15-13:15

Competition wear must be worn at the weigh in.

Number of Mats 1 x competition mats (75 entries)
Registration We try to accommodate as many athletes as possible in our event, comfortably, but there is a limit on the number of wrestlers in order to guarantee a high-quality event.

We reserve the right to close registration when we reach full capacity, or on the day of the appointed event registration deadline, whichever comes first.

We strongly suggest that athlete registration is finalized before making any travel arrangements.

Competition uniform and protection gear Please follow the UWW International Grappling Regulations - Article 10 - regarding wrestlers/grapplers uniform and appearance.

Entry Fees 75 competition spaces available

£30 entry

All competitors must hold a valid membership

Competition Format UWW and BWA rules will apply throughout the competition, with BWA rules taking precedence where necessary.

Supplex is not permitted for this event.

Max group size of 4 (Round Robin format)

Bouts will last 4 minutes.

Spectators 200 spectator tickets are available online for purchase.

Tickets £5 Adults Children under 12 £3

Entry on the day £7

Tickets must be purchased under the name of the spectator and are not transferrable.

Coaches Coaches are required to enter the competition; 1 free coach entry per team.

ONLY BWA LICENSED COACHED WILL BE ALLOWED TO  

 CORNER

Coaches are required to wear their Coach ID during the tournament. Any other unqualified person found “cornering” may be removed from the venue.

 

Prizes Athletes who place in 1st, 2nd & 3rd in their division will receive a medal at the event.

All medals should be picked up at the event’s podium. Southampton Novice League does not mail out unclaimed or lost medals after the

tournament.

Code of Conduct By attending the competition you are agreeing to comply with the British Wrestling Code of Conduct.
Photography There will be an official photographer at the event who will have undergone the necessary checks.

By entering the event, all participants and parents or guardians of participants are consenting to photography/filming which may be taken by Southampton Open, the BWA or an official BWA contractor at the event. You also accept that these photographs or video may be used in future              for publications or published by the Southampton Open, BWA and the contractors in order to promote the positive aspect of our sport.

Accommodation Accommodation is not provided and must be booked directly.
What Is Not Permitted

Inside the Venue

Signs/flags are not permitted inside the event facility.

Pets, weapons, foul language, physical or verbal abuse towards competitors/ members of staff/officials are not permitted. We reserve the right to have you removed of the event premise and ban you from further events.
